Our corporate office will be closed from midday on Friday, 23 December 2022 until Monday, 9 January 2023. If you need to get in touch with us during this time, please refer to the below guidance:
For urgent matters
If you find yourself without power over the holiday period, please follow the usual process of reporting this to your electricity retailer in the first instance. Our field crews will be working throughout, so we’ll still be able to attend to any network power outages.
If it’s an emergency (for example, if you have any safety concerns or observe damage to our equipment), please call our 24 hour emergency line on 0800 248 148, which will remain open all day, every day.
For connections
Connection requests can be raised as normal via your electricity retailer, which we'll process up until closure. We won't be able to arrange for any work to be carried out until the new year though, which also applies to small network extension requests submitted directly to us via our website.
If a temporary disconnection for safety is required, we’ll still be available to undertake it, but these requests should also be raised as normal via your retailer.
For anything else
You can email any queries, complaints or any other non-urgent requests to [email protected], and we’ll respond upon our return. Remember, you can still contact us 24/7 on 0800 248 148 for any safety-related matters.
Other services
To check the location of underground cables (and associated enquiries), you can continue to call 0800 248 288 as usual. Plans can still be requested online through beforeUdig.
If you are not satisfied with our resolution of a complaint, you have the option to refer to Utilities Disputes; a free and independent service that can be accessed via www.utilitiesdisputes.co.nz or by phoning 0800 22 33 40, but please note that Utilities Disputes' office closes at 4pm on Friday 23 December and re-opens on 9 January.
Full contact information for all of the above scenarios can be found here.
We wish you all a very Meri Kirihimete, Happy Holiday, and a safe and prosperous New Year.
