As of 1 March 2023, some customers applying for new connections where we need to extend our electricity network will be eligible for a fixed price of $6,000 + GST – significantly lower than the actual cost of the work that’s typically involved. 

This mainly applies to residential customers whose property boundary is over half a metre away from our nearest point of supply, but doesn't include large subdivisions. For those connections where a fixed price doesn’t apply, we might still be able to contribute an amount of up to $9,000. See our Customer Contribution Policy for details.
