On Sunday 22 September, Hutt City Council CEO, Jo Millar, opened PAK'nSAVE's charging station in Petone, where a number of EVs were showcased to the public. Jörn Scherzer, Hutt City Council’s Sustainability and Resilience Manager, said: “We’re excited about the new fast charging stations as these help our community and businesses to drop fossil fuel in favour of clean New Zealand electricity. This helps us to reach a zero carbon goal and tackle climate change.”
Wellington Electricity – along with the EECA – has contributed to installation costs of the equipment and is proud to be part of the initiative, which is in line with our overall involvement in supporting the use of EVs across our network and beyond.
